The traffic light, found as a second hand item on eBay Kleinanzeigen, was the very first project by my brother and me. We just started studying mechatronics / IT and we wanted to make use of our new skills in circuit design and programming.
We removed the old electronics from the traffic light, installed an Arduino, some LEDs, Transistors, a power supply and some wires taken from old telephone cables and after some coding our first project was ready!
The traffic light has since seen various updated. At the moment, it features an ESP32 microcontroller with WLAN and is integrated into a smart home solution as a remote controllable room light.
